J Brand is a denim company founded by designer Jeff Rudes and stylist Susie Crippen. J Brand jeans have become a staple jean for many closets in America because of their clean, dark finished appeal. They are simple yet sexy, and are never embellished with extra hardware.
These jeans are known for their simplicity, great styles, and perfect fits. Jeff Rudes has been a successful designer throughout the last four decades and has become an icon in the denim business.
He began his jean brands in the 1970s by pioneering the French jeans boom with his brand, Paris 2000. He then moved to California from New York in the 80s and started his brand of junior line lycra knits, Area Code.
Rudes eventually got back into denim in the 90s by partnering with industry icons, Ron Herman and Adriano Goldschmied, by creating A. Gold E., a successful denim brand.
After creating his own labels he decided to step into the private label arena in 1999 and created a large denim assortment for Abercrombie and Fitch. After his many ventures throughout the decades he has now perfected the jean with his newest label, J Brand. Susie Crippen co-created J Brand jeans and gives her knowledge and expertise to create the ideal jean for women.
Susie is a former Hollywood stylist who has been called upon for numerous editorials for magazines such as Vanity Fair, InStyle, Esquire, and GQ. She has also created advertising campaigns.
