Sandrine Phillipe at Wendy Foster, Montecito

Sandrine Phillipe is one of our very special designers from Paris. Her inspiration comes from her childhood memories of discovering her grandmother’s clothes in a trunk hidden away in her family’s attic.

She parlays touches of the eclectic, retro, and whimsical from these vintage pieces to her collection. We love her signature tiered skirts and fun mesh overlays on cotton and viscose that make her unique.

Sandrine’s latest palette of taupes combined with greys is especially fabulous, new, and different for Fall. The first photograph features a ruffle long sleeve blouse available in grey in sizes 40-M and 42-L $494 and a skirt ruffle skirt available in grey in sizes 40-M and 42-L $494.

The Second photograph features a layered silk skirt available in grey/taupe in sizes 40-4 and 42-L $542 and a mesh tank available in grey in sizes 38-S,40-M and 42-L $298.

Shira Entis, a fashion designer and lover of all things tiny and over-sized, and Alex Bell, a lawyer and seeker of adventures, have been fleamarket addicts since they met ten years ago at Brown University.

Frustrated by the inconvenience and environmental hazard of accumulating several plastic bags while marketing, they craved a convenient and fashion-hot tote that could fit all of their wares.

Fleabags are designed as their ideal solution – dapper, large, lightweight and sturdy carry-alls – that are also eco-minded. Thus the brand Fleabags began in 2009 while both still work their day jobs in NY City.

Fleabags are made in Limited Edition by hand and with the Edition Number written on each bag. We are very excited to have these in the store!!

We are drawn to the raw quality of her pieces that are contrasted with the right amount of eye-catching bling! Beth combines metals with feathers with diamonds with leather with gorgeous stones…

Morgane Le Fay is a New York City based fashion house, and usually brings oooo’s and awwww’s when noticed in our windows and tried on in our store.

The dresses, gowns, and wraps we buy are designed by the Argentinean designer, Liliana Casabal, whose childhood dream was to design clothes. Casabal approaches her elegant designs with a non-traditional savvy style, and her mission is to create beautiful, feminine gowns for all ages and backgrounds. Her pieces are absolutely stunning for weddings and special occasions.

Wendy Foster State Street has recently welcomed a new clothing line, Yumi Kim to our store! These silk tunics and dresses combine refreshing, new patterns and a bright new color palate to our racks.

Ideal for layering under your staple winter sweaters and coats, these fun pops of color can add an unexpected touch to an otherwise neutral winter outfit. Designer, Kim Phan uses her past in the music industry, as well as her experience revamping vintage clothes to create a modern take on women’s essentials.

Similar to the aesthetics of Kim’s New York City flagship store, she wanted the clothing line to be a direct reflection of her personality. With fun, flirty and contemporary clothes, Yumi Kim successfully captures her self image in every design.

Dosa of California, one of our most treasured lines of all time, has just delivered its latest Fall collection to the Wendy Foster Dress Shop – and I can’t wait to tell you about it..

The Los Angeles based designer, Christina Kim, typically searches south of the border each season to find inspiration in her fabrics, colors, and overall look. This time the traveler 2009 collection, “collected inspirations,” was drawn from a diverse range of influences: Albrecht Durer, Robert Therrien, Jerry Sohn, Maureen Doherty, Kyrgyzstan, and The Last Whole Earth Catalog.

The textures are a mix of beaded, handwoven jamdani, patchworked and ruffled silks, appliqued jackets and skirts, and quilted velveteen coats. Raymond Meier’s photographs beautifully capture both the textures and colors of the clothing: dichondra, Bandol, Mephisto and Astrakhan.
